For men and women at various stages of their life and career, effective flexible work practices can go a long way to improving the critical issues of diversity, inclusion, mental health and wellbeing. We believe, and research supports, that flexible work holds a significant key to engagement and retention leading to greater productivity for organisations.
Flexible work practices – A Research Project
The nature of work, patterns of work, individual mindsets and the working environment impact workers differently. HR Strategic Partners have been exploring what the differences are, what makes some arrangements work and others not, and understand the differences as they exist across gender, age and level.
Ultimately the objective of this research has been to understand key success factors and key barriers to success in order to identify what organisations and individuals can do to increase the success and prevalence of effective flexible work practices.
Interview participants include men and women of varying ages and career stages from across industries (including Law, Mining, Pharmaceuticals, Energy, Entertainment, Banking & Finance, Health and Professional Services), and from organisations of varying sizes (from start-ups to major global companies).
Findings have highlighted key areas for focus if you’re looking to achieve a flexible work culture.
The Ice berg model represents these key elements.
